Our take
This Toraiz AS-1 is a solid analog synth with that classic Dave Smith DNA. The sound is warm and punchy, and the arpeggiator and sequencer add a lot of creative potential. At $550 it's not cheap, but you get a lot of features: built-in effects, modulation wheel, rotary encoders. The included EVA case is a bonus for portability. My only gripe is that it's monophonic, so no chords. Also, the interface can be menu-divey at times. If you need a compact, powerful analog monosynth, this delivers.
